Introduction: Fitness Instructor Experience:
I was a group fitness instructor at Georgia Southern Recreational Athletic Center (January 2007 to January 2008). I led abdomen, kickboxing, step aerobics, cardio, and weight training toning classes that ranged from 2 to 100 people in size.
Typical clients I taught were 18 to 24 years of age. I taught classes three to four times a week and usually picked up more whenever it was necessary. I used my creativity by consistently changing how I presented each work out in order to keep my workouts from being stale. I did this through my music selection layout of a circuit, changing exercises, as well as taking specific requests from the clients.
Since they were always clients who are at different skill levels, I always made sure to organize my workouts to match each client's ability, while challenging them at the same time. I would always demonstrate different levels of exercises ranging from easiest to really hard.
My style was to always motivate my clients to challenge themselves not just to meet, but also exceed their fitness expectations, while at the same time making sure that they were safe. In August of 2008, due to my performance, I received the Leadership of the Pack award.
