Introduction: We offer yoga classes and studies with Kari Kittinger. Kari Kittinger (RYT-300) discovered yoga during college while seeking an outlet to bring dance back into her life. A competitive dancer most of her childhood, Kari was longing for a practice where she could flow, stretch and dance again. Her first yoga class was an accidental Vinyasa 3 class alongside only three seasoned Yogis. "The teacher allowed me to flounder around in the back. She didn't say anything to me the entire class. That first class was so humbling; my heart opened up and I was curious. Something shifted inside of me after that one class and I’ve been practicing yoga ever since." After many years, her practice became her only true peace while a busy restaurant owner; she found herself on the mat every day. It took Kari over a decade to decide to share her practice and begin teaching. Realizing what this practice can do for the soul and the body, Kari knew she needed to share the teachings of yoga intertwined with her love of food and nutritional healing. Kari teaches wholesome yoga, a method mindful of the Asanas, alignment and individual anatomy. Her classes are fun (yoga is fun!) and challenging with a focus on connecting the physical movements to the mind, and cultivating a divine inner teacher that opens the heart, frees the spirit and ultimately brings peace to your life. Kari enjoys sharing connection, creating community and really getting to know each of her students. Kari studied at the Yoga Garden for her initial 200-hr teacher training. She has deep gratitude for the teachings and continued enlightenment from her teachers Sean Haleen, Katrin Kuttner, Jason Crandell and Judith Hanson Lasater. Kari has over 300 hours of training and will be 200 ERYT and 500 RYT certified in 2015. Kari also studies connected communication (non-violent communication) with Newt Bailey in San Francisco. When off the mat, you can find Kari hiking all around, running with her husband and two pups or cooking up and enjoying all the delicious local food San Francisco has to offer. Kari teaches private, group, corporate, outdoor and public yoga classes.
