Proprietor David Shamanik has been working with gardens in the Bay Area Since 1999. David will bring an artistic touch to your garden with lighting, shape, texture and creative materials. The work often includes irrigation, lighting, stonework/hardscape and water features along with design and plant selection. David of Shape of the Earth is knowledgeable, coming with over 20 years of experience in landscape design and irrigation. I had a small repair job, but he approached it with patience and professionalism, asking questions and vowing photos and videos, plus an on-site visit before doing the work. He answers questions thoroughly. He may not be the lowest bidder, and he uses higher quality parts and fittings, so I’m confident his work will stand the test of time. I’ve added him to my list of “go-to experts” for landscaping and irrigation, and glad I met him.

Our regular maintenance worker quit last year and it didn't take long for our yard to become so overgrown and weedy that it was actually unpleasant to be back there. David and his team removed an enormous amount of weeds, dead plants and grasses, trimmed back the overgrown trees and shrubs and used no toxic chemicals to restore our gravel patio area. He completely rebuilt the irrigation system and restored the crumbling retaining wall, then replanted with a delightfully colorful selection of drought-tolerant shrubs and succulents, some of them California natives. We love it so much more now, we're always back there. David's price was great for what we got. He was very thorough with his estimate and communicated well when changes needed to be made. There were no surprises, which is what we loved about working with him! He completed the whole project in almost the exact time frame we agreed on. Overall it was an ideal experience with a super professional, knowledgeable and skilled landscape contractor. I highly recommend Shape of the Earth.
