I have been studying guitar (and music, generally) with Mark for over a decade. I was a casual noodler and I was looking to develop technique, learn some theory and begin to appreciate and hopefully play more sophisticated music. I looked for somebody whose approach was consistent with my goals and found Mark. I am certainly not a great player, but my playing, my appreciation for and my understanding of music (particularly for jazz) have increased exponentially. Mark has a method that lead me (and his other students) to see the fret board in a new way and to feel the relationships between scales and harmonies in your fingers. Plus, he's a great player and a great guy to spend time with. I could not have found a better more supportive teacher.
