5/5 stars December 28, 2010
Rey was friendly, professional and did an incredibly thorough job cleaning my large apartment. Some pans I've spent hours trying to clean now look like new, and he showed us the products to use to keep things clean day-to-day. All this with an extremely competitive price. Highly recommended.

Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Personal Valet type work, booking travel for clients an cooking for them especially during the holidays an keeping their homes organized an supplies replenished as they need to be, shopping for clients for gifts for various occasions as well.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look at the person an what they have to offer. Be a little bit flexible with them, as sometimes things come up. Though that is what schedules are for. If you have a last minute request be willing to work with the person, after all last minute requests take time to plan especially to execute them perfectly.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Is it really that easy to prepare an cook?
yes it is you have to have a passion for it an love to do it if you love what you do it is never really work.
would you show me how to make that dish?
Yes love teaching people to cook, have patience as long as they have patience to learn. as i said it takes a passion.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. If i give you a price don't tell me what someone elses price is, especially if it is less. When you hire me you hire quality work. Just as you are paid for your services for a set price i am too an that should be respected.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I pay attention to detail on every task i do. I am the only one who comes into your home, so there are not numerous people in an out of your house. When it comes to cooking being a student from LeCordon Bleu i can make anything from a peanut butter sandwich to rich french cuisines to middle eastern. Only using fresh ingredients, never use anything out of a can or from a box.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. i love cooking great food for people an watching the smile on their face as they taste things i have prepared. Love meeting various interesting people an LOVE to help them organize their lives making sense of their clutter so they can find what they are looking for more quickly.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. do i bring my own equipment to clean?
No as i find it unsanitary to take cleaning supplies from one home to another. That is how Germs are spread.
Do i do all the work myself?
Yes i find to many people in an out of a house make for a bad expierence.
Do you speak English?
Yes am a US BORN CITIZEN
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. not a real story but still funny, Clients family members always love to email me when they are coming in to town to make special requests for foods an desserts. During the Holidays they always ask for my Drunken Apple Pie which i have heard they fight over the last piece, soaking my apple slices in black berry brandy for a few days.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That though it is easier an cheaper to hire ilIegals to do the work, if you out source my work then you hurt my profession an the quality of work gets a bad reputation if you have one bad expierence you spread that to the field in general. What happens in your home stays in your home i do not gossip about clients ever as i would never want anyone gossiping about my private life i don't do that with any of my clients annonimity is a precious thing an so many people think if they can get ahead by gossiping about people they don't care who it hurts.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I have always been a neat freak even as a child. My mom would laugh because i would do everything most parents should/would do. I was her personal butler (lol) I loved cooking at an early age, making my first lasanga at the age of 13. then started switching it up an made my first lasagna with shrimp instead of meat which everyone loved.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. Organized Gallery show hiring catering team with great reputation to facilitate the event as it was to large for me to cook for since i make everything that day an not days in advance. I have no problem admitting when i can't do something an would rather it be done right than not done at all or done badly accepting full responsibility for any mistakes made.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I take cooking classes all taking one in New Orleans in October.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Know what you are getting into. Love what you do don't do it for quick money, because if you don't do it right you give the profession a bad name. if it is something you can't do be up front an honest about it rather than lie about it an make matters worse
Q. Write your own question and answer it.
A. Would you consider traveling with me to do what i am hiring you to do here.
Yes as i love various cultures an can always learn something new where ever i go or find a new spice i have never heard of an how to apply it to my dishes.
