Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you are looking to hire a lawyer it is imperative that you ask for a consultation before making any decisions. This is vital so that you can meet or at least speak to your prospective attorney and get a sense of exactly what they can do for you, what the full extent of all costs may be, and how they communicate. After all, if it is difficult to speak to a service provider at this stage it may be a sign of things to come. Additionally, it is impossible for a lawyer to assess your particular situation and let you know what all your options are without getting all the necessary facts from you. Therefore a consultation helps you and helps the attorney to best serve your needs.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. At the Law Offices of Vaughan de Kirby we combine decades of immigration experience with compassion for our clients. We pride ourselves on getting to know each of our clients personally and ensuring that they fully understand each immigration option available to them so that as a team we can create the most desirable immigration strategy to achieve each client's desired result. It is the relationships and caring legal attention that we provide to each client which we believe sets our legal services apart.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Our immigration attorneys have each chosen this profession due to the passion we have for working in a positive manner with people seeking to become members of the melting pot that is the U.S. We enjoy helping individuals navigate the complex set of immigration laws and seeing them become successful in the U.S.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. My suggestion for individuals who are deciding which area of law to enter into is to think of your life experiences and determine how you can best help people use their legal rights. In my case, having lived abroad and having experienced many cultures, I decided that immigration law would be a great way for me to help foreign born nationals legally immigrate into the U.S. At the same time, due to my background, this practice area is fascinating to me and it keeps me motivated each day to excel at what I do for the best interest of my clients.
