Question and answer

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. That's easy! We find satisfaction in seeing our clients delighted with and comfortable in their distinctly new surroundings. The best compliments we receive are from clients who say they feel "at home".

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. When will our home be finished? This is a tough one, since the answer really depends on furniture lead times. Depending on the furniture selected, you could expect a project to take between 2 - 8 months to complete.

How do you charge? We bill by the hour. After the initial client meeting Niche Interiors provides an estimated range of design fees for the project.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Our role as Interior Designers is to help clients find their individual design style and to create a home that is a reflection of their personality and lifestyle. Often times clients are afraid that a designer will come in and try to put their stamp on a home. This is not the goal for the majority of interior designers, and certainly not for us!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. We recently remodeled a one bedroom apartment in Pacific Heights and transformed it into a stylish, welcoming retreat for a downsizing client. The efficient floor plan maximizes the small space, squeezing a dining area, home office, and entertaining space all into one room. A closet is turned into a mini-office, adding more function without using any additional square footage.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Both of our designers have green credentials. We value continued education in the interior design field as a whole, and particularly in eco-friendly, green design. Jennifer is a Certified Green Building Professional and Kerry is LEED accredited.
