Our planting is visually and horticulturally harmonized, with plant varieties that love the Bay Area Mediterranean climate as well as the specific micro-climate of your site.
Although our media are plants, flowers, soil, stones, concrete, and wood, the people are what I like most. We are unique in being a group of best friends who love working together, and each of us love to bring out the best of each other's talents and abilities. We enjoy working together and this shows up as higher quality and beauty in the environments and structures that we create.
I also love getting to know our clients, finding out what they like and what turns them on, and providing it for them.

I love the multilevel backyard that Mediterrasian Landscapes has designed and installed at our San Francisco Sunset home. The design incorporated all our wants and needs for our ideal yard. My daughter and I love going out and tending the raised vegetable garden on the second level which has provided us with bounties of strawberries, chives, mint, and snow peas. We are happy with the beautiful blend of Mediterranean climate loving plants that this knowledgeable group has attractively arranged throughout the yard, including my favorite natives like Matilija Poppies. The expansive flagstone patio that they installed on the upper level has become a sunny retreat where my husband can go to get work done. The teak chairs on the redwood deck on the first level make a great place to serve coffee to friends. From there we can view the entire garden and marvel at its colors and textures which change with the seasons but remain beautiful all through the year.

During the last few years, Mediterrasian Landscapes has transformed our entire San Francisco property from a steep, unusable, weedy slope into a unique, artistic, happy and functional environment for us, our kids, our guests, our pets, and even our Volvo.
At first they remade our steep front yard into a beautiful flagstone patio with a custom designed moon mosaic in the middle. After this they replaced the old, failing concrete retaining walls on either side of our property with attractive, new, stained concrete walls. They even have their own sculptor who made totally unique, ceramic sculptured planters to adorn the walls. We love the succulents that cascade from the planters over the driveway.
These artistic craftsmen also replaced our old, steep, unusable driveway with a new, shallower, convenient carport surfaced with a gorgeous design of antique brick with a black granite cobblestone river swirling through it. It is a dream-come-true to be able to walk directly from the car to the front door using the convenient brick and Mexican tile stairway that they installed.
The backyard is their most recent masterpiece, and we are enthralled with what they did with it. Once a steep, weedy wasteland, it is now a 4 level retreat. From the cedar-roofed, brick-floored, glass casita (or cabana) to the upper redwood view deck, it is a wonder to behold. The four terraces are supported by planted retaining walls (greenwalls) which feature hundreds of succulents, flowers, herbs and vines spilling out from pockets in the walls. Inside the casita, their expert carpenters installed cabinets and seating, which make it convenient for serving party guests as well as potting plants, or great for a private retreat on a foggy San Francisco evening.
Since Mediterrasian Landscapes had waved their magic wand over our home, our experience of living in San Francisco is way more fun and exciting, and we are the envy of all our friends and many passersby on our little street.
