About Charlies Place

We have been in business since 1993. We do all aspects of repair from minor service, to total overhaul and complete restoration on vintage Honda motorcycles only. We have extensive knowledge and resources when it comes to these bikes. We also do customization and fabrication. We stock a huge selection of new and used parts for vintage Hondas. We also manufacture non-obtainable parts, sell parts online, source rare parts, and fabricate on site. We have a full machine shop in house and stock many engine parts. We do cylinder boring, honing, valve work, and clutch and transmission work. We turn brake drums and rebuild/replace wheels. We work with high quality painters, platers, polishers, and upholsterers. Most importantly, we love what we do and the bikes we work on.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are simply the most comprehensive early Honda restoration facility in all of the Bay area. Charlie O'Hanlon's knowledge of early model Honda street bikes is unparalelled. Our highly trained staff care deeply about the work we do, and we aim to stay above the rest. Always. We also manufacture impossible to find parts, and are constantly working to improve the performance and technology of these vehicles.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. It is never dull. There are endless opportunities to learn, and meet people who are enthusiastic about older Honda's. There is nothing I would rather do, and it provides great material for artwork as well.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common quetions are about bike sales, which we do not do, and about various performance issues, and upgrades to older Honda street bikes. Our answers depend on the situation. Another common question is 'why old Honda's?' the answer is nothing of that era is made better.
