FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer multiple services based on a flat or hourly rate, focusing on a client's needs. Patent and Trademark filings are done on a flat fee basis, paid right once the draft application is ready to be filed. Follow-up prosecution with the patent office is charged hourly, but a flat rate may be negotiated for client's with multiple filings.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with a simple phone conversation to gain a better understanding of a prospect-client's initial needs. I do my best to ensure they understand upfront my services, potential costs, and the kind of processes/timelines expected before entering into any formal engagement. I happily answer questions for a long as it takes so that clients are completely confident when deciding to move forward. Depending on a client's needs, I can work remotely, through in-person meetings, or a combination of both. My practice is cloud-based so I can access my clients' information anytime and provide quick responses to last minute requests.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a trained patent attorney licensed to practice law in California and federally registered to file patent/trademark applications on behalf of clients located anywhere in the United States. I've worked at the US patent office in the past and understand how an examiner reviews an application. I've also managed patent filings and strategy around the world for small and large Fortune 500 clients.
