I will tailor-make your meals to include your favorite flavors and stay within your budget. The food that I make is most at home in cast iron or bubbling inside the belly of a dutch oven. It is warm, soothing and multilayered and balanced above all. I lean on both the rustic quality of Mediterranean tradition where ingredients are highlighted seasonally at the peak of their flavor and combined simply: salt, acid and olive oil to retain a purity of flavor, as well as the deep, unctuous quality of Indian and Middle-Eastern cuisine, slow braises, intricate spice mixtures, cooking low and slow, transforming ingredients through time and technique to a stew or a curry that is so much more than the sum of its parts. I am happy to create anything you can dream up! Food that blows your mind does so because it piques every part of your senses without going too far in any direction. It is balanced, a rich sauce cut with lemon and heat, grilled fish drizzled with good olive oil and fresh herbs, ricotta toast smeared with honey and a sprinkling of salt, these are the intersections where happiness happens for me.

I have hired Ms. Taylor to create multiple dinner feasts for 6-12 people. She plans each menu with a unique vision, taking into account both the character of the group and the seasonality of local foods. Her spreads are full of color and surprising bursts-- or hushed secrets-- of flavor. Perhaps her most unique quality as a chef, however, is Samantha's ability to describe, with romantic nuance, each dish she serves. When she presents her work to assembled guests, the chef becomes the poet, tantalizing the taste buds with her words before the food is even served. I recommend booking her now, before she gets picked up by the Food Network!

Sam put together a truly stunning, delicious, and beautiful food-event for a group of international designers my company hosted. She created an atmosphere that put everyone at ease, welcomed them to San Francisco, and facilitated both a professional and memorable evening. Her regionally-themed feast felt healthy and fresh, even though I completely stuffed myself! I highly recommend Sam- she will bring the magic.

Samantha is not only a talented and creative cook, but she also a gracious, funny,and intuitive. So easy to work with and she produces such amazing meals! She cooked for us almost weekly in Brooklyn. We miss her since she moved to San Fransisco, and we have a lot of restaurants here....but nothing compares!
