Diana Burman

Introduction: I was a child performer. When I was 7, all the dancers in our troupe got to paint their cheeks a bright red color. It was one of my earliest encounters with the power of artifice, and I could not have been more thrilled. Artifice, in the good and bad sense of the term, exists within our lives and often guides our choices. The same excitement that I felt in front of the studio mirror painting my cheeks, I still feel every time I pick up the camera. I love creating photographs; the basis of every good fashion photo is a little bit of rouge! Diana Burman recently earned a master's degree in commercial photography from Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
