Steve did a fantastic job with our wedding photos, so when I needed a publicity headshot for a historical publication, I knew who to turn to. He was generous with his time, knew all the good places to take photos and made the whole process fun. The photos worked out really well and conveyed exactly what I was hoping for: an author who looked professional, but also approachable, warm and not just another stuffy academic. He has a talent for taking natural looking photos that present you at your best (I swear he uses a magical lens that makes your skin clearer than it is!). Absolutely worth it :)

Steven has now helped me take portrait photos 3 times, and they've all been amazing! He knows how to bring out best in you - including finding the right angles, lighting, background, and helping you naturally smile / laugh. He send me the pics in a very easy to navigate gallery. Steve was an absolute joy to work with. He was amazingly fun and kind to my (unruly) two and three year old boys. I asked the impossible of Steve and ended up with many options of wonderful shots of the two of them together. And his suggestion that we take pictures in the park next door to my preferred location produced the best pictures of all. I hope to make our sessions with him an annual treat!

Steven is a very skilled photographer. He took beautiful pictures of my family for our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. He was very patient and fun with the kids and truly captured their personalities. He kept the session lighthearted and positive. He also created the best picture I have ever seen of my parents -- one that I will cherish for years to come. Bravo, Steven!

I’ve known Steven and had seen his work for many years. When it was time for me to get headshots done I naturally thought of him. His work was everything I expected it to be. The morning we spent shooting was more like hanging out with an old friend which made it easy to poise for him. You can tell Steven enjoys his work and it comes thru in the final product.

I enjoyed shooting a benefit for the Broadway tour company here in SF. It was a 3 hour event.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look at samples of their work so you get a sense of style. It's important you find a photographer you're comfortable working with.
