- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Doing a 20 minute phone consultation before meeting is helpful to better understand why the client is pursuing therapy at this time, explain more about my style of therapy and also answer any questions they might have for me to see if it's a good fit. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was psychodynamically trained when working at Family Service Agency of Marin which has provided me a strong base to bring in elements of attachment theory into therapy. While working in a hospital setting, I was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Training which has provided me practice skills and behavioral changes that I can bring to my clients. I also worked at the Gay Couple Institute in San Francisco where I was trained in the Gottman method.
