Introduction: If you want to explore what it is your voice can do, this is the perfect opportunity! Every singer has their own unique voice and I consider it my job to nurture and cultivate it. I promote safe and effective vocal techniques for artistic growth, while exploring this together in an enjoyable and fun way. I have taught hundreds of students and have a full-time studio. I am open to all styles of music regarding repertoire, but I like to ground the singer on the basis of classical technique. I received a bachelor's and master's degree in vocal performance at Syracuse University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. There is something so meaningful about working with people in lessons. Music has a wonderful way of revealing a deeper understanding of yourself. It's a privilege to be able to guide students through their individual musical journey's.

I was Jill's voice student for two years while she and I were pursuing a master's degree in voice and composition, respectively. Being a casual singer at best, I was amazed at how Jill helped me to find a voice I never thought I could possibly have. She not only explored (and found!) ways to make my voice/lungs do things I never knew they were capable of, but she inspired and encouraged me every step of the way. She's a conscientious and caring teacher, and was always looking to find better ways to help me discover my voice. It was a truly great experience!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk about your goals, why you are interested and what you would like to get out of your lesson experience. We will then do a warm-up and perhaps sing through a piece that the student already knows. Followed by a discussion regarding where I think they are and the next appropriate steps for them.
