Stephanie photographed our wedding 2 years ago. When we got our images back (after about 5 weeks after the event) we were simply blown away. Not only did we get amazing portraits of ourselves, but now have memories of the countless stories that we lived and even those that were going on while we were not around. The images brought the day back in the most beautiful way. I am still tearing up when I am looking at our album. Stephanie is not fast (however always responsive), but when we got our photographs and later album - it was very apparent that countless hours went into the creation of what we now cherish as our first family heirloom.
We are so happy that we invested a little more than we were initially planning. Safe on any service, but get the best photographer you can afford. I highly recommend Stephanie Herzer.

Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. How do you differentiate between an experienced and inexperienced photographer?
When you look at your photographers portfolio, make certain you look at complete events as well. Are people relaxed, do you get a sense of all the different stories that unfolded? Are all different types of photographer from the requested photos to the casual ones handled equally well.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. A photographer can meet almost any price point depending on the level of care that goes into your photos. Do not assume that because all the portfolio images are treated well, that your photos will be, too.
Quality varies from "shoot to burn" without editing to a photographer who delivers fantastic art pieces. Naturally art does not happen just by itself. The amount of time that your photographer puts into your portraits varies greatly. Make sure you get a sense for how much time your photographer is going to invest, especially in the aftermath.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Are you looking for a passionate and fun wedding photographer with many years of experience?
Meeting with your photographer is the best and perhaps the only way to find who is right for you. How well you "click" with your photographer makes all the difference.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Your event date has to be available. Know what you love and care about in photography. Bring photos you love, details you cherish and be prepared to share what is important to you as a couple. Your portraits should reflect who you are.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Working with people and seeing how they sometimes cry tears of joy when I share their portraits for the first time. It is my responsibilty to tell your story so that you can cherish it for the rest of your life.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I used to be a successful software engineer for NeXT and Apple computer. I was highly compensated, but I was not enabled to fully unfold my creativity. So one day about 12 years ago I decided to follow my heart and become a full time photographer. The last ten year have been the best of my life. Time and being passionate about what we do, is more important than all the money we could make. I highly encourage anybody to follow their heart as well. Life is too short to have a job that you do not love!
