Introduction: Hi. My name is Slava Basovich, and I'm honored to be considered as your photographer. I am a documentary photographer, filmmaker, and editor with over 10 years of wedding and portrait experience. I have lived in Berkeley and San Francisco for over 15 years, and love shooting in the Bay Area, one of the greatest backdrops in the world! While completing my MFA degree, I started a small wedding company to give couples an artistic alternative to traditional wedding photography. Throughout your planning process, I work with you one on one to understand your vision and make sure it becomes a reality. I film your day with a discreet photo-journalistic approach, allowing you to be present with your family and friends and focus on what's important. By establishing a comfortable and candid atmosphere, I create an environment that allows you to be yourself and enjoy your wedding day. I know that the more fun you have, the better your photographs will be; what results is a collection of unique images that captures the individual spirit of each couple. I believe that there is beauty in even the smallest details. My work strives to uncover the unique story of your wedding day and to create timeless heirloom mementos that you can share with your friends and family. A few years ago, a former client asked me to photograph their first baby, and with that, my company expanded to include maternity, newborn and family photography. It's been incredibly awe inspiring and very humbling to be a part of so many important moments in people's lives. Simply put, I love my job! A few fun facts about me: I met my wife in kindergarten when we were six years old; as an undergraduate, I taught a history course on The Simpsons (No joke! You can read about it here), and I've travelled to 34 countries. I love to play guitar for my newborn daughter, and I'm committed to fighting for social justice and marriage equality!
