Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: You make a request and the whole thing gets played. I'm not into mashing songs until you can't even recognize them. The artists have done their work and I do them justice by spinning the entire tune. Plus, I work off of digital and vinyl. Playing music (of course!) and meeting people. I love it when someone has an out of this world request that I didn't even think of! That usually goes to the top of the rotation.

Jake was a DJ for our wedding on October 4th, 2014. The event ran from about 6pm to 9pm. We wanted a fun, friendly atmosphere with nothing but good vibes and he was perfect for the job! He was able to combine his crazy mad music-selecting skills with a sense of professionalism that really made everything perfect. My personal favorite moment of the night was when we had the buffet line for the reception dinner. Jake had the impromptu idea of having everyone go up as tables and had everyone come up with their own table name. Some of the names were hilarious and we still joke about them now months later! Jake was organized and listened very well to our requests. This was on top of still being in tune with music culture enough to get my young cousins to totally rock out!! Both my husband and I were over the moon with him.

Jake deejayed my wedding a short while back and my wife and I could not have been more pleased with how well he kept everyone energized and upbeat. His music selection was absolutely spot on, and he was an amazing and hilarious emcee. With all the stress and planning that goes into planning a wedding, Jake was a delight to work with. My one complaint is that that he did not start up a Soul Train. Though, I'm sure if we had hired a videographer, he would have naturally helped the night evolve into an amazing Soul Train revival. To be fair, this is a fault that I had not realized until writing this review. Just make sure to have a Soul Train cause in your contract.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    All by happy accidents.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Give me an exact timeline of when you want set-up/music/load-out. Tell me if you would like me to bring my own speakers or if you have your own equipment that I can plug-into (as well as what technical details go into that). What kind of music do you want and what kind of music do you absolutely not want.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

While it's fun to play music and take requests, it is work, so just respect the time, energy, and focus that goes into it. Also, make sure you cut a rug! Nothing sadder for a DJ than an empty dance floor.
