Introduction: I teach hatha classic yoga with focus on breath work, maintaining alignment, and focusing the mind. We work in a sequence of postures that build strength and improve flexibility. This practice is a great way to enter the world of yoga by listening to your body, noticing what changes you feel from day to day. Yoga is available to everyone. Hatha yoga is the forceful path, which teaches you to tame the mind by taming the body. This practice helps to balance the solar and lunar energies in the body. In my classes, we will work on alignment while holding the poses for longer periods in order to get deeper into each pose and test your own limits. I work with my students to build awareness of mind, body and breath. My small and private classes are adapted to each individual, giving you the attention to work on areas you may feel need improvement. Yoga is not just a work out you do for an hour a day. The practice we do for 90 minutes is known as asanas (poses). Enjoying a yoga lifestyle not only includes asana practice but also keeping your mind, body, and spirit healthy.
