This is the worst company I have dealt with on Thumbtack. As a real estate agent who also manages properties, I use Thumbtack quite frequently. This was the WORST experience EVER! Let’s start with the scheduling. Thumbtack first scheduled me for 10 am, but there was no quote for how much it would cost. Later I received a call saying the scheduler was wrong and that the cleaner would come after 2. I said fine, and I asked for the cost. The would not tell me how much it would cost. They said the technician would give me a free estimate. Fine. The technician goes there and quotes me $350 for a job that should not be more than $200. The technician says he would talk to his boss and call me back. He called me back and and gave me a “discount” to reduce it to $250. I said fine. But I mentioned I could not go there in the evening to check the work and would do that the next day. The rep said it was fine. I get a call at 6.30 asking me to pay $250 right away. I said I would do it the next day after I checked the work. The rep started getting combative and downright abusive. I said I would go there in 30-45 mins and if everything was good I would pay them. She was even more rude. I hung up and went to the property. Unfortunately, the carpet was still wet, but the tech had done a decent job. After verifying work I paid them. Most vendors on thumbtack are really good, but I would stay away from these guys. The customer service is awful and they try to fleece you with their high prices!!
