Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Tenant improvements for any type of restaurant, New homes, additions, remodels, patio covers, decks, kitchen remodel, code enforcement violations where we help our customer to resolve them, we can also provide as built plans for our customers when they have chosen an architect and they need the as built plans, etc.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. To make sure they hire somebody that is going to provide what he says within time and withing budget!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I would like to know how to get the most out of my money and hope to find a contractor to whom I could trust.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. They need to be clear on the type of project even when this could change along the way but it helps if the project is define the customer will save money by avoiding future changes that is why the first phase is so important "Planning and Design"
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We provide the most accurate professional sets of plans for each project, our designs follow the needs of our customer without imposing our own, our critic go beyond our designs and those of our customer to finalize a project with a solid product. We do not only design but also supervise our projects and can also provide professional advise, we do as built plans and provide CAD files to your Architect, we do residential and commercial projects, we can also help our customer through the process of building permit submittal and project biding, all our projects are State of California Code compliance. We have the most reasonable prices plus we strive to make our clients remodel and renovation project fun and enjoyable.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The experience to know people and their needs! The power to make dream project a reality! And the possibility to change the future and preserve the present!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. It almost always starts with the description of the project. It could be a simple room addition to a mayor tenant improvement, mayor addition, etc. and the questions are:
What do you think? How long would it take? How much would it cost? Etc.
Our answer always varies and the size and type of project.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. No, not really!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I'd like them to know they will be working with a draftsman that has over 20 years of experience on the construction industry and has an Architectural background.
And can provide proof of that!
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. Design and build go hand by hand. I graduated from the University of Guadalajara, MX. and started as a junior architect in 1989 then I moved into the supervision and cost control of the projects. I have done construction most of my life, I've done hands on work myself and I have found plans with minimun information where the contractro has to figure and resolve the problems on the field that's why my plans are so detailed.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. There have been several home additions and remodels on this 2010 year but I would say the most important would be the one -In construction now- for the Peebles Family in Saratoga, CA for the dificulty and the time it took to satisfy our customer.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, as a draftsman/designer I encourage our team memebers to stay up to date with the changes not only on the software but also with the changes on the codes.
We receive constant information about materials and new programs to facilitate the visualitation of the projects sus as Revit Architect, which is the 3-D desing software of the future in our days.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. oh yes! Our building are going green now and so our designs. The new codes include a much better way of saving the world for the future generations.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. The lates project was a new Indian Restaurant (TI) Green Food on the hart of Silver Creek and Capitol Expwy. in San jose. -The project is being approved by helath and Building department-
It took about 3 weeks to complete and the price was $4,500
The on going project is a new home remodel addition in the city of Fremont, CA
Cost of the project $3,700.00 including T-24 and engineering calculations for both of them.
