Robert is an accomplished pianist. He is patient, kind, positive, and I look forward to my lessons. I have to commute to San Jose from Fremont, but it is worth the effort. I am so thankful to Don Gillis for telling me about this wonderful teacher.

I have been taking lessons with Robert for about three years. He is an amazing musician and teacher. He teaches well rounded lessons as he is able to teach classical repertoire and also lead sheets, improvisation, and ear training, etc. My skills at the piano have grown under Robert's teaching. I highly recommend him!

I was a student with Mr. Van Horne for 1 year. I enjoyed every single lesson with him. He is a very patient teacher. His lesson is fun and enjoyable. The method he teach is clear and easy to understand. His talent to compose and rearrange music to make it easier and more appropriate for your playing level is imagzing. He also composed a number of international music. One of my favorite is "Phoi Pha", a Vietnamese song from a very famous musician Trinh Cong Son. I highly recommend Mr. Van Horne if you are considering taking piano lesson.

I had piano lessons with Robert for about over a year and Iove it. Robert is very patient and his lessons are customized to your playing styles. Robert has a systematic teaching system for student who wants to learn about chords and improvisation. You will find how easy it is to learn from the basic chords to the sophisticated 7th, 9th, 13th or slashed chords. He aslo encourages his student to practice 4 hands improvisation with him. If you like to write songs, look no futher, Robert will be the right teacher for you. Besides teaching, Robert is an active performer. I really enjoy his playing. Great teacher!
