A. Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. OK something you should know most big plumbing contractors and drain,rooter companies when looking for employes only ask for a clean D.M.V. print out so they can get them in a van after there 90day training with the guy they hired last year. so all in all your paying this guy to learn plumbing at your home,its the only way thies big outfits can meet there high call valume Its not your falt the guys got on a uniform a truck full of tools and matriels coming from a full page add they been around for years but is he truly a plumber or just looks like a plumber?

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Have you done this type of application before.if so how many times. What are your concerns? if he answers The heath,wellfere and safety of the public.why?should I care, OK lets talk plumbing. turn water on it goes down the drain simble we even got hot water but whats it all about drains have ptrap and vents to keep out methane gas from sewer systems. methane gas is explosive,toxic,and corrosive.damaging not only to your home by cossing mold.but most inportant your heath.hot water is provided by heating a tank of water with natuel gas.the tank is sealed and builds presure if not installed right and the presure builds up past 140psi/150psi it will blow just like your radiator in your frist car but 10 times bigger,then theres the gas line if it leaks or fails prematerly due to the use wrong materials, fires and explosion are no fun.water heater need to be vented.when heating the water they burn out carbone monoxide that can kill if exposed to it.water leaks;a simble leak runs the water bill up and is a waste,drip,drip,drip.if its under your home or in the yard its damaging,broken line can put out 30 to 40 gallons per minute

A. Always try to find out as mush as you can about you plumbing problem. Check your home owners insurance,it may be coverd,look for warrentys. It may even be a simble fix take a few minutes to ask questions. Dont be afraid to get some hands on exprience most hardware stores will show you the application of the materials they sell go on line a little time and work can save you some money
