Introduction: Riding lessons and training are available for riders of all ages and levels. Olympus Training cross-trains classical dressage with hunter/jumper and english equitation riding. We focus on creating balanced, supple, and athletic horses that excel in the show ring and also for pleasure riding. If you are a rider with an injury or pain while riding, please look into our rider recovery problem. We use balancing and re-centering techniques for both horses and riders. Our trainer, Ellen Einkauf, received much of her training in Classical French dressage and also has years of experience as a hunter/jumper rider. She studied under masters on the East Coast and has brought their knowledge and expertise to California. We offer training and lessons. Sales and lease horses are also available. Will travel for clinics and coaching.

Ellen is an amazing trainer, she helped me and my horse had learned, and accomplish more in a matter of weeks than I thought would EVER be possible. she's really good at explaining things, and was beyond helpful with whatever I had a hard time with, lessons were never ever boring or repetitious, they were fun and I actually looked forward to them, and out of all the trainers that I have worked with,Ellen is the only one my horse has actually seemed to like. honestly,I could go on forever about how amazed I am at what a difference has been made in my horse, she's an off the track thoroughbred, and all of her retraining after the track was pretty bad as well, before Ellen,I couldn't ever ride with an even slightly loose rein without my horse taking off or misbehaving,it was a constant tug of war,but now I can ride comfortably, and confidently,I actually trust my horse, and have learned how to work WITH her instead of against her. I would, highly,HIGHLY recommend Ellen, for any horse or rider at any level.

Ellen Einkauf is an EXCELLENT trainer. We have tried several trainers over the last year and a half and we just weren't getting the expertise we were looking for. So many people advertise that they are good trainers but, Ellen actually is! She taught my daughter what proper balance and harmony are and how important it is to both you and your horse. She worked with my horse and was immediately aware of past training errors and showed me how to correct them (properly). Many people think that working with Thoroughbreds is such a hassle and Ellen did it worry free and with ease. No one has been more informative and she always went out of her way to help. We are sad that she has moved to Southern CA but keep in touch and will be taking ANY clinics that she offers in our area!

Ellen has made a huge difference in my horse. Before her, my thoroughbred gelding would take off as soon as you would barely squeeze your leg on him. Now, it takes a ton of kicking just to get him to walk. She was extremely patient and helped him work through everything. Everything she does, she explains very throughly, and makes it understandable. My horse has come so far in the few months we have worked with her, and I can't thank her enough!

Ellen is not only an AMAZING horse trainer but a great teacher as well! In all of the trainers I have gone through, she is by far the best and completely understands everything there is to know about horse behavior, posture, etc. She has a lot of patience and control over any horse she rides.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Horses have been a passion of mine for my entire life. I have been riding since I was 7 and owned horses since I was 10. I have been involved in everything from showing, managing, training, teaching, and grooming. In 2010 I decided to pursue my passion as a career and opened Olympus Training.
