About
I am an IT guru who can network your home and teach you shortcuts and tricks on Macs or PCs (I really prefer to work on Macs, even though I am equally expert with PCs. I may decline your job if it's PC only, sorry). I can work on any kind of router, from high-end Cisco gear down to basic Linksys, Netgear, and of course, Apple Airport. I can flash the firmware in an old Linksys router to create a wireless repeater, do QoS, and many features only found in $1K+ commercial routers. I can also network printers, stereos, and any other gear you have that's network capable. I enjoy this work, and I am truly not in it for the money (I do this on the side. My full-time job is as a consulting systems engineer with the world's largest networking gear provider). Basically, I want happy clients who send me repeat business. I live and work in San Mateo. I will travel north to San Bruno and south to Palo Alto at no charge. Flat fee of $20 to go to San Francisco, San Jose, or Oakland. I prefer not to go further than these cities, but we can talk about a one-off flat fee if you really want me to go to Marin, etc.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Talk to them in advance about how they'll solve your problem. If their answers make sense, they are probably a good provider. Make sure you get a clear sense for how much they want you to pay - don't have them come over without establishing rates.
