Introduction: TIFFANY CAMPBELL graduated from the National Holistic Institute in 2005, where she acquired 720 hours of training in various modalities of massage therapy (Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, Swedish, Sports, Reflexology, Pregnancy, Hot Stones massage, etc.) as well as health education. Soon out of school she worked with both a chiropractor and an acupuncturist and began her journey as a therapist. Her love of the basic concepts of yoga (such as the power of breathing, body awareness, clearing the mind and focusing one’s energy within the body), and her intrigue with discovering new ways to listen to and read the body through her hands, has lead her to refine her talents as a therapist. She developed a unique style of addressing chronic body issues (such as pain, stiffness, stress and emotional holding patterns within the body) while allowing her clients to open up and achieve true relaxation through deep effective body work, patience, energy, trust, and intuition. Tiffany has been working at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay since 2006 where she has benefited from working with therapists from around the world, received further training in luxurious spa-style therapies, and acquired a fine taste for quality service standards. Although she is fond of the spa setting, her most fulfilling work has been with clients who have sought after real body work versus the “typical fluffy spa massage.” She prefers to blend the two concepts (and various modalities) giving her clients the best of both worlds with typically more lasting results. “It is truly a great feeling when someone walks in the door grumpy, in pain and skeptical, and leaves hugging me and expressing gratitude for a unique experience, relaxation and relief from chronic pain. It’s like they are a different person when they leave my treatment room. I love a challenge. I love making a positive change in someone’s well being. It’s like I can feel their energy beaming with goodness. It makes my whole day and that’s when I know I just love what I do.” -Tiffany Campbell

I can't rave highly enough about the service I received during my recent visit to Kanna Spa. Tiffany, the owner and masseuse, started by asking me about my particular trouble areas and really listened to my concerns. After an hour of her working on me, I felt fantastic. She gave me the best massage I have ever had. I followed the massage with an hour in the infrared sauna which if you haven't tried, you really should. The sauna is lightly lit with soothling music, a wonderful place to meditate and a perfect finish to the Tiffany experience. By the time I left, I felt like a new person completely relaxed and rejuvinated. Tiffany is the consumate professional in every aspect of the term and really cares about her clients. I highly recommend her and can hardly wait for my next appointment.

This was one of many times I've been treated by Tiffany, and am amazed each and every time. She is an excellent masseuse and her intuitive approach makes her the best at what she does. The experience began with some relaxing and meditative time in her sauna, which is the perfect beginning to the whole cleansing and zen like healing, complete with peaceful music and lighting. After the sauna, my massage began. Tiffany's strength, and knowledge of various massage methods left me feeling refreshed and pain free. I would recommend Kanna Spa because Tiffany is truly the most incredible masseuse I have ever known. Her calling for this vocation is evident; her caring and kind personality are rare and uplifting.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Proper body care should not be rushed. Deep tissue body work is often done too quickly, resulting in torn muscle fibers, pain and the build-up of scar tissue which is the main reason many people are hesitant to book a massage stating “deep tissue.” They have likely been traumatized by some impatient therapist somewhere along the way. True deep tissue massage is done with patience and care which can relax the body and mind on a much deeper level if executed properly. In addition to the unfortunate speediness of the actual body work, many spas set stressful time limitations on their clients as well as on their therapists by allowing for merely 10-15 minutes between each session. You typically receive 50-60 minutes of lovely pampering and then are quickly rushed off the table knowing your therapist is tapping their foot and checking the clock just outside the door. There is little to no time to meditate, stretch or simply savor the quiet solitude and energy within the sanctuary of the treatment room. It is quite strange that the trusted provider of relaxation in many spas is often rushed, stressed and stuck in a small box of time behind the scenes. To set a new standard, which some may say is counterproductive to the pocketbook, Tiffany (CMT and owner of Kanna Spa) decided to start her own practice where being rushed is simply not an option. Although guests are asked to arrive 5-10 minutes early, appointments are booked with an additional half hour of time allotted in between clients. The guests at Kanna Spa are not rushed, the therapists hands are healthier, and each guest is given time to enjoy hot tea and meditation in the treatment room following their massage. It makes for a calming, truly effective experience in body care.
