FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a member of the National Assocation of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and International Voice Teachers of Mix (IVTOM), and have been associated with other vocal professionals in ACDA (American Choral Director's Association), NAfME (National Association for Music Educators) and UMEA (Utah Music Educators Assocation).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I loved singing in high school. I sang with school choirs and performed in community theaters. The most obvious thing for me to do upon going to college was study music. In commenting on the work involved with being a professional musician, my director said, "If you can imagine yourself doing anything else, do it," implying that being a professional musician is really tough work. He was right. And I'm doing what I love.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look at credentials. Any teacher should be more than happy to share them with you. Experience and personality should speak the loudest.
