  Dear Don Jorge,
  
  Thank you for your kind follow up and offer to do a tasting of your cuisine last weekend at an event you were hosting in Spring Valley.
  
  Unfortunately, the event was a combination funeral memorial / wake. We certainly not expecting this. We thought it might be a birthday or other party where people would not mind us coming. The individuals were not aware we were coming either.
  
  When we went to the front door (not knowing it was a funeral) and asked to taste the tacos, the dead man's wife came to the door cursed at my wife, daughter, and I and told us to get the hell off of their property.
  
  She was followed by the dead man's father (evidently the deceased was a young man) who was understandably upset that we were sent to taste your tacos.
  
  I can only imagine the horror, disgust, and shock that the family experienced at our presence. We offered our sincere apologies, and condolence, but I doubt they were heard through the tears.
  
  We certainly would not have gone to this funeral if you had told us this is what it was. We imagined it was a block party, birthday, or something where we were not intrusive. Can you imagine people barging in on one of your family's funeral dressed in shorts, tee shirts, and flip flops to taste tacos...at the invitation of the caterer of no less?
  
  These poor people had no idea you had suggested we go to their home to promote your business.
  
  Words cannot capture our shame and embarrassment. My family had to stand and take the cursing and knowledge that we had insulted the family and deceased just to taste your tacos, although we had no knowledge that this was a wake. Simply, we deserved it, although we had no idea what we were walking into.
  
  If you have any integrity, you should refund any payment the bereaved family paid you. No apology from you could compensate us, nor could it call back the tears from my wife and daughter they shed, nor the recurrent memories you were responsible for creating.

  At a wedding on Saturday. The caterers were 3 hours late. They did not have enough food. The guests list was for a total of 130 people and they showed up with a small pot of beans that were very watery, dry rice which they hid under the table and did not have any dishes to keep the food warm. They also did not have anything to keep the sour cream cold. Some of the guests had to help get the food from where they were cooking it so that the other guests could eat. The caterers would also only put out a little bit of the trimmings for the tacos. What you see on their website is a lie. It does not look that good.

  I was intially unsure about hiring Don Jorge due to the lack of reviews, i am glad i went with my instincts!! Don Jorge did my catered event for 50 marines on Camp Pendelton. It was my husbands promotion ceremony. They arrived on time. Were pleasant and professional. The food was sooo amazing!!! We recieved so many compliments on the quality of the food. I was so happy to see and hear everyone enjoying the food. I was happy at the price, quality, service and of course taste of the food. I wouldn't hestiate to hire Don Jorge again and definitly recommend them. Thank You Don Jorge!!!!

  don jorge catered my daughter's wedding reception. The Food was fantastic!. Not one guest complained about the food. It was fresh and plentiful. Even better, we got to keep the leftovers. Yum!

  The food was awesome and the service was good. My guests were impressed with the fact that the tortillas were made on the spot. Loved teh nopales salad too. The only blotch in the entire experience was they were late, so food service started later than scheduled, but everything else was fantastic.

  The food was AWESOME!!!! everyone enjoyed it, All of the food was authentic. The carne asada mulitas mmm.... so good. I would recommend them for your next party. The people were all very nice.
