- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We ask new clients to fill out a survey about their strengths, weaknesses, needs, and expectations so we have a better sense of how to help. We also offer a Test Prep Diagnostic for test prep students, which is simply a proctored exam followed by a 2-hour review session with a tutor, which allows them to not only ascertain WHAT a student missed, but WHY.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our tutors have tutoring and counseling experience before coming to us, but they still undergo an intensive, month-long training program with the curriculum creators before they work with any students.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Before you hire anyone, talk to your child about his or her commitment to the process, as well as each of your goals for the tutoring and/or counseling -- make sure your expectations overlap. In order for students to maximize their test scores or write the best possible college essays, they must be willing to put in the time to practice new strategies or churn out multiple drafts. If they are willing/able to do that, then congratulations -- that is more than half the battle!
