I teach the use of gentle training techniques that work on all breeds and all types of dogs primarily because they are well grounded in the science of how animals learn. In fact, I've used the same techniques to train a wolf, a donkey, a rabbit and goats.

A. Remember that dogs are contextual learns. Just because they understand cues inside the home doesn't mean they know how to apply them in other environments. And, train in baby steps, building on success. You know your training technique needs to be adjusted if your dog keeps failing to get the answer right.
