FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is negotiable based on the value of the service and my costs. I also accept in and out of network insurance and have Psychological Assistants that work under my license that can also reduce costs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I and my Psych. Assistant provide a number of different services including psychological testing and weekly psychotherapy from different orientations. I typically have a brief conversation with applicants over the phone to explain our services and options, determine if we provide the service they're looking for and its within our area of expertise. I then schedule a face-to-face appointment if we both decide to move forward. We begin with a broad clinical interview that captures both successes and strengths as well as reasons for seeking therapy and collaborate on a goal for treatment that is identifiable and attainable that meets the client's needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Psychology from the Catholic School of America and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, a consortium of 4 schools including William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Old Dominion University, and Norfolk State University. I maintain the 18 hours of CEUs per year that Psychologists are required to maintain their license and at times I provided this training to others. I am also certified in 5 Evidence-Based Practices for trauma, depression, anxiety, disruptive behavior, & family therapy
