Question and answer
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Using time honored techniques and new innovative materials, I create classic and well as new images to depict figurative and landscape imagery. Often working on large format canvases and panels, the colors are vibrant and dynamic. From representational subjects to non-objective forms, these works are often designed to complement the interiors they are used in. Inspiration can come from a single color, idea or antique, for example. Use of texture also is use as an expressive element. Using glaces and layering of paint brings depth and strength to each piece.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Seeing an environment come alive with a dynamic piece of art created for a client is a very satisfying experience. The physical and mental challenges poised by large scale creations and installations are also satisfying.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How do you come up with your ideas? I answer by saying that each challenge is different and requires a focus on what the final results are suppose to be. For example, one project required classical period references to complement the colors and styles of the interiors. I proceeded by drawing on my classical history and using Pompeiian frescoe imagery to bring the colors and ambience together.
