FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Well, my name is Joshua, I am the social media manager, but Ed, the owner, started this business because of his background. For many years Ed worked with government officials as a driver-bodyguard. He also worked with International dignitaries when they visited the country and because of his training and the background until today we get calls for high profile customers when they visit San Francisco Bay Area. Actually, there is one job coming up in a few days, where our limos and SUVs will have flags from two countries, like the presidential limo. Anyways, Ed has never worked for any limo or a bus company to learn the business. He started with one brand new Town Car and soon he had to buy more cars one at a time because of the requests from names and brands that others have been competing for many years. Ed is originally from Armenia - the motherland of grapes. His grandfather (his fathers father) had a winery and Ed showed us some of his childhood pictures where he is about 5 or 6 years old, barefoot stomping grapes or helping his grandmother pick grapes. On one of the pictures he is holding a bottle of wine with his name on it because that wine came from the vineyard that had Ed's name on it. So, being a professional driver and from a family of a winemaker/winery owner - He decided to start a chauffeured limousine service in the Wine Country and the Private Limousine Service was born.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Never shop for the cheapest price. You will get what you pay for. When shopping, call as many providers as you can and keep notes. Choose the one you feel right about. Do not assume, ask. I met a guy in Wine Country driving a 17 years old black ex-police interceptor Crown Vic. The tint was faded, the rims were different, dings and dents all over the car and it has been painted with a $4 spray paint from Home Depot... But on his website I saw a picture of a brand new black Lincoln Town Car... When I asked him why he wont get a new car, he said "Do you think the customer knows the difference between a Town Car and a Crown Vic?"... I thanked him, for making our company look good. Companies who own and operate nice cars are proud to show off their actual vehicles on their websites, like we do. You can see logos, license plates, or TCP numbers in pictures.
