Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If one is looking for someone to work out with and learn something about physical fitness, there are plenty of trainers who should be able to do this. If, however, they are looking to take charge of their entire wellness program and do this by learning the multiple disciplines involved, then they need to make sure the trainer has this knowledge and exemplifies it. I have seen other wellness professionals with fitness and nutrition credentials, and also some who can address mindfulness. I do not know of any who are well-schooled in these, and can also teach people how to cook like a private, whole-foods chef. This is a valuable tool for overall health which, for my clients, is part of the program.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. They should make sure that the trainer they are considering is well-schooled in what they want for themselves. This has to include not only personal experience with other clients, but also exemplification. Make sure that you feel heard and at-ease with their credentials and experience, as well as their presence. Be patient and trust your instincts. I also recommend envisioning what you want for yourself beforehand. This may help attract the right professional.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. One should be aware of what I offer and thinking about which of those services they could use. Most could use at least something from each of these areas, but if someone is already an experienced bodybuilder, for instance, or knows how to meditate, that's fine. We simply work around that and make sure it fits well in their program.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. By combining my experience and education in fitness training, food and nutrition, and coaching / counseling, I am able to offer a multi-disciplinary, integral training model.
