About
We don't believe in breaking down students to rebuild them in the image of the dancer we want. Instead, we guide our students into finding the dancer hidden inside them, the expression of what's in their hearts. If your desire is to be a professional, we can hold you to that purpose but if your desire isn't that lofty, you'll find your place here as well. And, we will be happy to help you get to whatever's your goal. I get to do the two things I'm gifted at: dancing and encouraging other. What more can you ask for out of life? Occasionally, I will dance in a professional production. It's still a joy to entertain audiences. But, my students have become the community of my life.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was asked. I'd been a performer, receiving awards and acclaim for my work. When I was working I never thought about teaching. I soaked up every trick and technique I could from those I worked with. I left performing and eventually became a creative arts director at several mega churches. I shared my knowledge with adults and children. I discovered the joy of reproducing myself in other eager performers and realized that was what the others had done for me. One day I was asked to help a regional theater company develop a dance studio program. I've learned a lot about teaching and I've learned a lot from teaching.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

It's never like that TV show in our studio! You can dance; you can perform. You can even compete if that's your thing but we leave the drama out of it. The petty fights and scripted hostilities aren't part of our "reality."
