I'm a Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA Student who was accepted at both HBS and Stanford. I have helped countless others decide where to apply to business school, how to craft an application "story" and write outstanding essays that sell that story.
I know how to work with applicants to craft and edit their essays, drawing upon skills developed in my time as the Sports Editor / Managing Editor of the student newspaper at Duke University and my experience as a case writer at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
I am happy to help you at any stage of the application process. Whether it's deciding if you want to go to business school or putting the finishing touches on essays, I'm happy to help.

Jake did a great job editing my resume. He asked lots of great questions about what I wanted to do with my career and incorporated that well into my resume. He was quick and thorough.

Jake was extremely helpful to me in my MBA application process. He talked me through key aspects of my story and helped me express those succintly and clearly in my essays. He was very responsive and prompt, never taking more than a couple days to come back to me with meaningful comments and corrections. His economy of expression is perhaps his best skill, especially since it is so difficult to try and express the complex ideas is such a short amount of words. He also provided the right level of encouragement to make me feel good about the work I did, while still challenging me to do better, Although he was expensive, I think the value is defintiely there and would spend the money again if I hadn't already gotten into a top-tier business school. I would highly recommend his services.

A. Find someone who's been in your shoes and who's been successful in his/her application process. People who have had similar experiences will be best able to understand your experiences and craft them into a compelling story for admissions committees.
A. On a recent project, I helped someone with several aspects of their application:
1) Crafting a story and deciding what pieces of their experiences to include in which essay questions
2) Reviewing essays for content and giving extensive feedback on how to make the essays more compelling to an admissions committee. I commented on things like what stories should be elaborated on and what comments might raise red flags and therefore should be avoided.
3) Once the main content points were hammered out, I reviewed essays for wording, style and grammar.
4) I conducted mock interviews to help prepare the student for admissions interviews with either admissions staff or alumni.
I spent about 10 hours total helping this student. I offered her a discount because it was a large number of hours. We did this all over the phone / e-mail, though I would have been happy to meet in person if the distance is not far.
