Introduction: One of the benefits common to working with both estate planning and business law is the ability to proactively deal with issues. So much of the legal profession is trapped dealing with problems that have already occurred - they are essentially cleaning up problems that may not need to have happed with proper planning. By properly counseling clients and using the right tools, such as trusts and contracts, I get to use the law to fix problems before they happen. And most of my clients are happier when we finish a project than when we began. We have solved their problem. Not many attorneys - or many other people - get that kind of satisfaction from their work.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All attorneys have a continuing education requirement - 25 hours over 3 years. This last year alone I have participated in over 50 hours of continuing education. I also subscribe to the Internal Revenue Service's bulletin service on charitable issues to stay current with the changing regulations and rules so my clients can benefit from that knowledge. In addition, I take continuing education hours in both real real estate and insurance to further benefit my clients.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking for an attorney, you want someone with experience with the specific type of law in which you need assistance and with whom you feel a sense of comfort and trust.
