Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for someone that suits a style similar to yours. Their portfolio should reflect consistency in exposure, editing, and style. Photography is an investment, so definitely do a little research on a person that you can connect with that provides quality work, but also great customer service. You should never have to wait months to receive your pictures!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Do you have a contract or session agreement? Do you practice baby safety? Do you have any instructions for me before our session? What will make the most successful session? What should I wear to our session? Do you belong to Professional Photographers of America?

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. I have people ask me many, many questions. What to do? What to wear? What things cost? What my policies are? And I have them all answered out for you in a FAQ section on my blog...just send me an email for the link!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Absolutely! A good photographer never stops trying to learn. I like to stay up to date on the latest trends and make sure that I'm bringing the client not only MY best, but current, consistent work!

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Practice, practice, practice. Put the camera in manual mode and never look back. Learn it. Learn lighting and how it flatters different people and body types. Be legitimate--get a business license, pay taxes, pay sales tax, get insured. Keep striving for greater goals!
