Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look for genuine credits, not just hype. Anyone can say that they hire great musicians. If you choose to hire a band on your own be aware that it's easy to fake a demo and prerecord and auto tune the vocals. This is one of many reasons why it's better hire a professional agency that is experienced and has a reputation for hiring A+ musicians. We have done all the groundwork for you. A good agent has already weeded out the average musicians and eliminated the guesswork. We are able to show you a variety of bands, each excellent in it's own way and which makes your experience of choosing a band a fun one. Make sure when you hire a service like a band that they carry liability insurance of up to at least 1 million. All good agencies will do that. In addition, hiring an experienced agent will actually save you both time and money and will protect you from all the possible problems that often arise at an event due to lateness, inappropriate dress, lack of proper equipment, and the ability of the leader to be flexible and cooperative during the event. All of these basic issues along with a timeline that coordinates the music with all of the other events of the day will help relieve the stress that so that you can actually relax and enjoy the celebration!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Everyone books their events on Saturday nights for obvious reasons but a good secret is if you can book on a Friday night or Sunday or any other time you can get between a 20%-30% discount on not only the band but ALL of the vendors that you hire. Even the venue will give you a good discount! That is a secret that we as vendors wish more people knew about. The best bands are booked up sometimes a year or more in advance on Saturday nights so you will not only be getting the band at a discount but you will be able to choose the very best bands. So book early as possible on any night but Saturday and you will find the whole experience a lot easier on you and your budget.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How much experience do they have booking an event specifically like yours and how many years have they been in business? Do they have music and video sample of the bands? Can they provide references so that you can check their reputation? Will the agency help you with your timeline to make sure that everything is planned appropriately and everyone is on the same page throughout the day? Does the price include everything including the PA system and lights etc? If you have important announcements you will need to ask them if they will have an MC that can make them.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. They must have a date before they can start hiring a band because the best bands get booked up far in advance. Next, they will need to have at least a venue location because traveling a distance to a far away venue will cost travel fees. After that, they should have a pretty clear idea of what type of musical environment they want to have and then in addition, what are the range of ages of the guests (so that the music doesn't just appeal to their own tastes only). Once they have an idea of the type of styles they want we can then easily walk them through the process of watching videos and choosing the band that best reflects their taste and desires for the event.
