- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I went through a divorce many years ago and felt betraded by my attorney. I realizing all she was interested in was cleaning out my savings. She would call me ask about the weather and I would get a bill for it. Since this was before caller ID, I began to be afraid of answering my phone for 8:30 am to 5pm.This made see the importance of attorneys who care about their clients more than that BMW, they need to have.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently did what I always do, just stood up and fought for my client, which every attorney should do anyway. My client, who went through two other attorneys, thanked me and said I was the first attorney that ever stood up for her. What a shame,huh.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always make sure the attorney you are thinking of retaining will be the one handling your case and not handed off to a legall assistant or new associate. Also get an idea of the cost for the services they will be providing. it is always important to carefully review the retainer agreement before signing it, so you know what the costs, besides the retainer, wil be.
