About Courtney Bowles Voice Studio

My name is Courtney Bowles.

I am a professional singer and private voice teacher in Walnut Creek. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from San Diego State University and have 15 years of training under three renowned voice teachers Mary MacKensie, Michelle Latour and Ronit Levy-Widman.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I love helping my students find confidence in themselves through their voices. Every lesson starts with ear training, a little music theory, vocal exercises focusing on technique and song work incorporating the specific techniques we are working on at the moment.

I believe in singing healthy with your natural voice whether it be classical, musical theater or pop. I currently have openings on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in Walnut Creek.

I teach ages 10 and up. My fees are $35.00 for 45 minutes and $45.00 for an hour lesson.

If you are interested in lessons for yourself or your child or have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I focus on teaching healthy singing for all ages. My students learn songs in all styles and genres of music. I like exposing them to all different kinds of music from Broadway and Classical to Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. Every 4 months or so each student receives a CD with all of their songs (either 6 or 7) on it including the melody line and accompaniment. This CD is great for practicing their music, auditioning for shows, and for performing for their families.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love watching my students learn and grow in confidence- not only in their singing abilities but also in themselves. It is great to see them master the vocal techniques we work on together.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How do we start lessons?

Before I take on any student I meet with them and a parent. In this meeting I run the student through some vocal exercises, then we talk about what I can offer, the appropriate lesson time, and answer any questions the student or parent might have.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been singing my whole life. I have been very fortunate to have had wonderful teachers, myself. All my teachers challenged me in every lesson to keep growing as a singer. Once I finished school I realized that performing wasn't my only passion; I wanted to inspire singers to learn and grow like my teachers had done for me.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. My lessons are broken down into 45 minutes and 1 hour times.

45 minutes = $35.00
1 hour = $45.00

Every 4 months there is an extra charge for the CD I provide including the melody lines and accompaniments. Each CD has 6 songs on it.

CD = $30.00
