FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ABSOLUTELY and ever good trainer should. I attend seminars in my area to keep myself informed about products and listen to other trainers speak about the fields they specialize in. I also am always reading so sort of book related to animal psychology! Their is always more to learn!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask if they have referrals available and what type of training they do. Good trainers will base their training approach around your dogs breed, history and your lifestyle. It is my belief that all methods should be scientific proven techniques also using positive reinforcement as the base method. Keep in mind as with any specialized service you absolutely get what you pay for. Trainers that are certified and have experience charge more because they invest more time both on site and also make themselves available to you around the clock because they know you will have questions.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish clients knew about the intense amount of dedication and experience that it take to do this job. A good trainer is an artist someone linking the owner and dog together allowing them to successfully and productively communicate with one another. Personally I wish clients knew that anyone can call themselves a dog trainer BUT the good ones like myself have been thru school and are certified, passionately changing the world one dog and owner at a time. To the real trainers out their this is theirs life's work,to the not so real trainer this is a way to make a buck and they have no real knowledge and ruin good dog and their hopeful owners.
