Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish more people realized that soaking wet carpets doesn't mean your carpets are clean. Many people have this perception. Too much water breaks the life of your pad and carpet down alot faster than you realize. Especially if you clean your carpets every 6 months or more you take that life away. Oxi Fresh has a quick one hour dry time in most instances that will leave your carpets looking fresh and clean and NOT break down your investment.

Another issue we face here in colorado is the number of homes that have pets. These pets sometimes have accidents. To treat these problems you need a odor destroyer. Many companys I know will charge for this treatment however just put a deodorizer on the problem that only covers up the issue. Our enzyme spray is the best available and if the smell comes back within a week, we will come back out to tackle it again unlike the big companys out there that say they will but is always an issue. Generally the first application knocks out that smell.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. The ability to produce that "wow" factor. The reason we use the machine we do to clean carpets or upholstery is that there isn't anything better in the market or we would use something else. After doing over 2000 jobs myself, I am still amazed on how those stains simply dissappear. I don't get into the field as much as I would like these days, so I depend on alot of feedback from my techs and review the respones the customers provide. I wish I could take the credit for the cleaning but it is really the green products we use along with the machine that produces the results to make the customer happy. Thats my number on goal.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Aren't you a carpet cleaner and supposed to get everything out?

I don't hear this very often but it does arise. I would like to get everything out of course. However, our little magic machine cannot weave new carpet. If carpets have been neglected for a period of time there is only so much moisture you want to put down to correct this problem. Many people think I still see something spray it again and again. If I were to do this we would create a bigger problem. Too much water when it gets to the pad will create something called wick-back. This is when the stain or spot might look like it is gone but as it dries it will resurface in a short period of time. You have to finesse areas such as high traffice areas. Our goal again to make things dissappear and worst case scenerio it will be shades and shades lighter...just don't let that area get any worse and hit it again before the 6 month cleaning. We generally discount those areas if they are not any worse to make them better.

Rule of thumb "how many people are in the house says how many times a week you want to vacuum". Its a heck of alot cheaper to maintain those carpets than to replace.
