Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. There is really no "most common" types of jobs. We get a lot of everything. Even if we get something that is straight forward, many of our customers want us to put their own special touch on it!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask about the equipment your provider is going to use, are they licensed and if they do this full time? You want an honest, licensed and legitimate professional.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Be careful of who you use. Some businesses that convert memories to DVD use old equipment that yields poor quality.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We go that extra mile to try impressing the customer. We quality check our work so our customers see great end products. Finally, we don't skimp on the extras; even our DVD label is high end!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. We like the customer interaction, learning about our customers and that look on the customer's face when your have completely "knocked the ball out of the park." We love knowing that we create family treasures!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Recently, I gave a preview of a large project. The plan was to review what had been completed and give the customer the opportunity to make any adjustments. During the preview, the customer turned to me and said, "ever know when you have totally nailed somebody's Christmas gift? We have nailed it."

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Our pricing is easy: 1-2 tapes to DVD are $17.99 each. 3 or more tapes to DVD are $15.99. If the customer hands me a VHS tape that has 3 hours on it, we are not going to charge more (must of our competition does charge extra for tapes over 2 hours long). We normally charge extra if there is more then 4 hours on a tape. Some of my competition thinks that I am crazy, but we think we're keeping it real.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. If you are in the profession to make money, you need to get out! Most of the tapes we handle are sacred to the customer. Most of the individuals that we service are not looking for a wham bam...but they are looking for service providers that care and that will cherish their tapes as they do. How does this level of customer service come out within our organization? We look past the revenue, have a sincere interest in people and want to help people make their memories last for lifetimes!

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. How do you drive quality and how is it measured?
We employ great equipment. We continually invest in new equipment that we think will enable us to deliver better quality. There are times when we go over the top...not to impress the customer but to impress ourselves! If we impress ourselves, we will WOW our customers.

So how do we know that we are making progress? The consistency of the letters we receive, the gestures and even the hugs. It sounds sappy. But when we deliver an end product and there is a "wow", thumbs up to Tape To DVD, LLC!
