FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been working in different aspects of video production since 1994. I've done everything from news (KWGN-TV channel 2), sports (Altitude Sports and Entertainment), and film (National Treasure, War of the Worlds, etc.) to freelance videography. I knew this was the line of work I wanted to be in when I invested in getting my own equipment. I couldn't visualize myself doing anything else. I even majored in Broadcast Journalism in college, because I knew I was headed for a career in video production. Now having done it for almost 20 years, I still wake up and enjoy every minute of it. And it makes it easy to do what you love doing, and this is just what I love.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Oddly, I do great deal of funerals. Several of the funeral homes in town contact me to film their ceremonies. I would say the next type of job I get most would be promos. Small business owners and everyday professionals looking to put together a video to promote themselves on youtube, facebook, etc. contact me to put together a dynamic video that will introduce them to their potential clients all across the globe.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I think the best advice I can give a customer is that it's okay to not know what you want if you're dealing with Fishers of Men Media. Because the business is also equal parts ministry, I have no problem advising customers against video when appropriate. A video is not always the first step. Depending on what you want to accomplish, it may make more sense to have a website up first and then use a video to brand yourself on sites like youtube and facebook, so that you can drive traffic to your website, where potential clients can find out more about you and/or the service you, or your organization provide.
