FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I am currently working on my doctorate in education/educational leadership. A few years ago I took college English again because I love it. This was also a way to "test" my writing skills (I received an A in both courses). I also have taken a grammar workshop and a doctoral level APA Style workshop at Univ. of Phoenix to make sure I am catching all the nuances of APA Style. I constantly look for opportunities to upgrade my skills.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a college professor, I was struck by how students did not understand how to write in APA style. When I retired, I realized that there were many people "out there" who needed the writing or editing help. I decided that this was a way that I could still be of service to a variety of students. I also saw this as a way to make sure that students were able to progress and receive their doctorates. Many students are "all but the dissertation" and this disturbed me; I wanted to make sure they had the opportunity to finish.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I helped a student who was very busy and did not have an opportunity to finish her dissertation. I worked with her, writing and editing back and forth until the project was completed. She received her doctorate last year.
