Cheza String Quartet played for my son's wedding in July 2010. They were absolutely fabulous!!!! They are creative, professional, and hip. Most importantly, they are extremely talented musicians. They were a delight to work with the entire time. We loved the variety of pieces they played. They set a magical tone for the wedding and the cocktail hour and I would recommend them without reservation. Hire them - you won't be sorry!

Cheza Quartet did an amazing job at my wedding. Not only did they sound great, but they maintained a very professional appearance and demeanor throughout the ceremony. I received many compliments from guests for chosing the string quartet. In addition, they were very helpful when it came to deciding on music and organizing the ceremony. I highly reccomend Cheza Quartet to anyone considering a live music.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We are primarily wedding entertainment and have played prelude, ceremony, recessional and reception music. However, we are also often booked for parties, fundraisers, winetastings, outdoor street performances and showcases.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When chosing live musicians for your event, first consider what kind of atmosphere you would like to create for your guests. A string quartet is very versatile because they can fashion a variety of moods throughout the occasion. A wedding, for example, may have traditional classical and baroque music during the ceremony followed by upbeat pop and jazz music as the wedding party and guests are exiting and taking pictures.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Music that reflects your style will really surprise your guests and add flare to your event, so don't be afraid to branch out! Rather than picking the first piece that you recognize, don't be afraid to speak with the musicians and let them give you ideas! You may find something that you will love and that will make your event unique.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. We simply ask that you have a date and location when you contact us so that we can provide you with our availability. You certainly do not have to worry about music selection if you do not already have an idea of what you would like- we will happily work with you once the date is saved!

Once booked, we require four armless chairs on-location and somewhere in the shade (our instruments cannot handle temperatures below 65 degrees!) if the event is outdoors.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. The Cheza Quartet was formed as a way to break away from the ordinary. Each member has a passion for music that extends to all types of genres including latin, jazz, and contemporary. Our motto is "set in motion" because we believe that music should never be made sitting still! Because of our extensive repertoire and unparalleled performance experience, the quartet offers a bit of spice to any event that will wow both you and your guests.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Every member of the Cheza Quartet is in love with the music that they make! For us, playing is not a job, it is a lifestyle and a passion. There is always something new to try and we are adamant about stretching our limits, both musically and stylistically. More than anything, we love it when people tell us that we have completely shattered their expectations of a string quartet!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. We are often asked if we will play different genres of music for an event and the answer is most definitely YES! We have a large repertoire that can be mixed to add a little color to an event.
If you have a request that is not in our repertoire, we will happily do whatever we can to find it for you. We often arrange our own parts if the piece is not already available.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Every member of the Cheza Quartet has gone to school for music. We have grown up with instruments in our hands and, consequently, have extensive performance experience. Throughout the years, we have worked hard to achieve and maintain a level of professional musicianship in order to cater to the most upscale events. Simply put, we just love our instruments too much to put them down!
