Deadwilder Design & Illustration was established in 2007 as a studio dedicated to all things creative. Although we have a propensity for mostly working in the fields of natural history and biological sciences, our scope of work has grown to include a diverse range of industries such as, architecture, outdoor retail, fashion, and packaging.
We offer a wide array of services, ranging from illustration, GIS mapping, graphic design, and web programming.
Feel free to contact us with any project ideas you are in the midst of contemplating, and we'll be happy to help you explore the possibilities.
A. When hiring an illustrator, artist, or designer, always make sure you clearly understand the image rights that are being passed on to you. Questions you should ask/familiarize yourself with are: "is this project work for hire", "who retains the full image rights", "are there restrictions (media type, geographic, time) to the limited use agreement I'm signing?". The more you understand about image rights from both parties, the more likely you are to come to a fair pricing arrangement.
A. Most people wonder how artists can actually make a living when there is a seemingly limitless supply of "free" clip-art, photography and other graphics available on the internet. In truth, these images are rarely available for anyone to use as they see fit, and if you are found using such an image with out express written consent, you can be held liable.
A. 1) Do you have a portfolio and specific examples of your work that you'd be willing to show me in person?
2) How can I be sure the work I get from you is original and is not violating any previously copyrighted material?
3) I'm starting a new business. Is it in your scope of work to help me brand and trademark a company name? If so, can you please cite a few examples of the processes you've been through?
