A. The customer should hire the company that not only had a good sense of design but also has expertise all methods of production. They also should speak to the individual who they will be working with so that they can discuss all application, ideas and access how well they might work together.
A. As a customer they might want to ask for some references, see a portfolio, also ask the design firm to explain all aspects of design through delivery so that they may learn some of the process. You can not learn all about a trade, it takes years to gain a full understanding of color, printing and web processes.
A. See a portfolio, ask questions about depth of experience.
Follow up on references and speak to the person to see if they will be able to communicate well through conceptual to production.
