FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The real teaching with shamanism comes from the spirits we work with. Every time I work with them they teach me more. There are a number of further advanced training intensives I'll be taking as soon as schedule and budget permit me taking two weeks or more straight. :-)
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I spent a long time knowing a number of people with an assortment of conditions that conventional medicine couldn't explain. When I first read about shamanism it felt like the piece that had been missing the whole time. I started with a lot of doubts about myself at first, and I was struggling with major depression. But during the training I was continually struck at how it was all working. I was working a day job at the time, and I inadvertently used that as an excuse to really commit myself to the work. My health got worse and worse the longer I spent not doing it. Each time I'd do some shamanic work I'd feel better for a few weeks and then things would keep getting worse. Eventually I realized that I was getting sicker and sicker because I was ignoring a calling. It came to a choice between being ready to committing to it or dying. Many shamanic healers find themselves at a similar life/death crossroads. That is part of how Spirit tells us we are being called to do the work. Now I can't picture my life without shamanic work in it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my work revolves around healing the spiritual wounds caused by traumas. Those wounds are the ultimate source of most mental illnesses, depression and addiction being the most significant examples.
